RSJ (rolled steel joist) is the traditional name for a tapered-flange beam; most modern beams are universal beams (UB) with parallel flanges. Your structural engineer will specify the section and we fabricate to it.
Yes - structural steel must be designed by a qualified structural engineer and approved by building control. If you don't have one yet, we can point you in the right direction.
Most domestic beams and frames are fabricated within days of drawings being approved. Larger frames are programmed to suit your build.
